Hull pair settle differences
Friday, March 12th, 2010
Phil Brown has confirmed that Jimmy Bullard and Nick Barmby did have an altercation while warming down after a training session, but claims they have now shook hands and are united behind Hull’s bid for Premier League survival (Hull 3/4 Premier League Relegation).
The Tigers chief revealed that 31-year-old club-record £5million signing, Bullard, confronted the 36-year-old ex-England international, Barmby, close to the Humber Bridge where they warmed down after the session on Monday.
To make matters worse the whole incident was witnessed by a local Women’s Institute group and Brown was quick to apologise to those in the vicinity.
In the meantime Brown claims the whole situation has been resolved and he is looking forward to a united effort in Saturday’s televised Premier League clash against Arsenal (Hull 13/2, Arsenal 2/5, draw 11/4 90 Minutes) at the KC Stadium.
“This incident was unsavoury and very unfortunate,” said Brown. “But the players have settled their differences.
“It was back to normal at training on Tuesday. They shook hands and got on with it.
“It’s a sign for me that they care, and I am looking forward to the responses of the players in question.”
