New boy Craig Kieswetter smashed a century as England (1/6 with totesport to win the ODI series) won their opening tour match in Bangladesh, beating a Cricket Board XI by 112-runs.
The South African-born wicketkeeper-batsman only qualified to play for England last week, but has already earned a call-up to the one-day squad after impressing with the England Lions.
Kieswetter has stakes his claim for a place in the team for Sunday’s first ODI, which England are 1/5 to win, after smashing 143 as England closed on 370-7 in 50 overs.
Vice-captain Paul Collingwood was also amongst the runs with a quickfire century off just 66 balls, while stand-in skipper Alistair Cook made 56.
Another new inclusion, Ajmal Shahzad, impressed with the ball with the Yorkshire paceman claiming the scalp of the home side’s skipper Shahriar Nafees, while Graeme Swann ripped through the middle order to help the tourists secure a comfortable victory.
