Taylor training with heir to his thrown

Phil Taylor (1/3 to win the tournament on outright coupon) has been practicing for the second round of the PDC World Darts Championship with his favourite opponent – his son Christopher.
The 14-time world champion will return to the Alexandra Palace after the Christmas break on Sunday night to take on Steve Hine and he has been preparing over the gap by taking to the oche with the man he feels could be his heir apparent in years to come (Taylor 1/200 to win, Hine 20/1 on match coupon).
‘The Power’ thinks Christopher Taylor is almost good enough to join the professional darts circuit and he will give him all the help and encouragement needed to make it in the game.
“Christopher plays darts with me every day and he’s not bad – he’s not world championship material yet, but he’s not bad and I think we’ll see him on the circuit in a couple of years,” said the defending champion.
“But Christopher is my practice partner, he plays with me every day and I even got him up early yesterday – Christmas Day – to throw. Don’t get me wrong, I want to continue winning tournaments, but my major ambition now is to see Christopher become a successful professional darts player in his own right.”
Taylor’s main competition to win the PDC World Darts Championship could be James Wade (7/1 to win the title on outright coupon), and the world number three said following his first round victory that he has put in a lot of work and has never felt better than at this current tournament.
